The inspection is performed to determine compliance with applicable Canadian gas safety standards and regulations including CSA B149.3, \u00ab\u00a0Code for the field approval of fuel-burning appliances and equipment\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p><strong><em>WHERE YOU&rsquo;RE NEEDED:<\/em><\/strong> Travel is required throughout North America with focus on Eastern Canada, specifically Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, P.E.I. and Newfoundland.<\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p><strong><em>ABOUT YOUR DUTIES:<\/em><\/strong> The Field Engineer\/Inspector will be responsible for the following activities:<\/p>\r\n<p><br \/>\r\n<\/p>\r\n<ul class=\"common wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Work directly with the Technical Manager in charge of approval of fuel burning equipment and represent the company when performing field inspections.<\/li>\r\n<li>Review requests for quotes from potential clients and recommend options to obtain approval.<\/li>\r\n<li>Provide technical support to the company\u2019s Customer Service team to determine the project\u2019s scope, service deliverables, price estimates, and assist in quote preparation.<\/li>\r\n<li>Review technical documentation including: P&amp;ID, drawings, BOM, wiring diagrams, and operation\/installation documents related to the equipment evaluation.<\/li>\r\n<li>Prepare and issue a formal report to client describing the outcome of the review process and any actions required by the client to ensure compliance of the equipment involved.<\/li>\r\n<li>Conduct engineering reviews of reports generated by other inspectors and provide constructive feedback for the purpose of improvement.<\/li>\r\n<li>Where directed by Management, attend technical or industry association meetings and develop networking with regulators and current\/future clients.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p><strong><em>ABOUT YOUR SKILLSET:<\/em><\/strong> Bachelors degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering with 2 years experience in \u00a0fuel burning appliances and equipment.<\/p>\r\n<p><br \/>\r\n<\/p>\r\n<ul class=\"common-check wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Registration as a P.Eng. or E.I.T. with Canadian Engineering Associations.<\/li>\r\n<li>Familiar with North American gas safety codes and standards including CSA B149 Series, UL, ANSI, NFPA.<\/li>\r\n<li>Hands-on experience in process instrumentation and process control including Burner Management Systems (BMS) and PLC.<\/li>\r\n<li>Experience in manufacturing and operations of boilers, ovens, heaters, evaporators, furnaces \u00a0and other fuel burning equipment.<\/li>\r\n<li>Experience with Oil &amp; Gas sites and safety requirements in those sites including applicable PPE.
