Applus+ Emilab expands its current capabilities with a new Electrical Safety laboratory, to provide global market access to local manufacturers. <\/strong><\/em><\/h4>\n

The new lab is located in Amaro, close to the Applus+ Emilab headquarters in the technological innovation hotspot of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region.<\/p>\n

With more than 500m2<\/sup> dedicated to testing, the lab is equipped to perform safety testing on a wide range of general and specialized consumer household appliances. This is a key sector in Italy, which is Europe\u2019s second largest producer of such products.<\/p>\n

Testing services for CE Marking and IECEE\/CB Scheme certification<\/strong><\/h5>\n

The new lab is already accredited by ACCREDIA (the Italian Accreditation Body) according to ISO\/IEC 17025, and it is in the process of becoming a CBTL laboratory in collaboration with QPS Evaluation Services, a National Certification Body (NCB) member of the IECEE\/CB Scheme, which was recently acquired by Applus+.<\/p>\n

Applus+ Emilab will provide services to obtain certification for North America and in more than 50 countries around the world.<\/p>\n

Cooperation with QPS Evaluation Services<\/strong><\/h5>\n

This investment follows the recent acquisition of QPS<\/a>, a well-known Canadian certification body providing one stop certification services for all types of electrical and electronic products, for access to the North American and global markets. QPS is fully accredited as a Certification Body in Canada (by SCC), in the USA (by OSHA\/NRTL and IAS), in the EU as an ATEX Notified Body, and internationally by the IECEE\/CB Scheme and the IECEx Scheme for equipment used in explosive atmospheres<\/p>\n
